i was hoping that you may have some advise on where to look for a house or condo to rent. my husband and i are moving to burlington for work (which is in south burlington). we are hoping to find a quiet area, away from the frat parties etc. we saw the red rocks condos, which looked nice, but can't seem to find any place renting them  - do they rent? or anything like that?

Hi Kate -

A list of property rental contacts follows. They are probably in order of usefulness. You'll also want to look at http://www.7dvt.com/ (which is a great general resource as well), and http://www.freepressclassified.com/ There may be something in Craigslist too, of course.

A couple of observations, based on your question:
First, Burlington does have a strictly enforced noise ordinance, so in the event you were anywhere near a loud party, you'd have a lot of recourse, and second - Burlington has many rentals, but they don't tend to be concentrated into apartment complexes per se. There are exceptions, but mostly rentals are former homes - and not purpose built as rentals. Red Rocks is an example of a condo complex with a few owners renting thier units - but there's no central office to call because it's a condo complex not an apt complex.
