Burlington, Vermont/Considering a move - is this realistic?
Expert: David Beckett - 11/30/2007
QuestionHello!
I am currently a college student in Pennsylvania, and, while beautiful here,I would like to move to Vermont. I am absolutely in love with the place and go at least two time a year. I will earn my bachelor's degree this coming May in history, and while it is not the most narrow of majors, I really could see myself working in a variety of professions (clerical/administrative assistance jobs). I will only have $16,000 upon graduation, and I am nervous this will not cut it in Vermont, however, I do plan to find a job BEFORE moving.
My interests include hiking, skiing...well, bascially anything outside. I love the area and am just going crazy after being so complacent here for 22 years. I guess my question is - how realistic is this goal? Would it be better to hold off or go for it right away? Also, how easy is it to find affordable apartments? How are the utility costs? How easy is it to meet people that may be interested in what I like to do?
Thank you so much for your help!
