Burlington, Vermont/relocation
Expert: David Beckett - 4/3/2006
QuestionMy wife and I are relocating to Burlington from North Carolina.
This needs to be a quick move (in less than 2 weeks) and
unfortunately there is no budget to fly up and apartment search
prior to the move. We have been using all the main websites that
list apartments in Burlington and haven't had much success in
finding something appropriate. We also aren't receiving any
other real help. What do you think about signing a lease in this
situation, can this be done from here? Are there other resources
for getting this done quickly?
We are really stressed at the moment, any advice will help.
thanks for your time,

AnswerHi Grant -
The rental market is much much easier for renters now than it was even a year ago. There's been a lot of recent development.
Please keep my number. When you're ready to purchase a home (or sell one) anywhere in the country, I can find you an exceptional Realtor. When you're ready to buy a home here in Northwestern VT - I can BE that Realtor!

Thanks, Grant.
I believe only a fraction of the Apts for rent are available on the WWW in this area.
Here are the places I'd look:
Preston Property Management - 1 802 658 0218
aptsforrent@hotmail.com
Curt Wheeler 1 802 863 2136
Burlington Apartment Network 1 802 655 9039
www.burlingtonapartments.net
Hinsdale Properties 1 802 862 1148
IPM 1 802 658 3600
Larkin 1 802 864 7444
Milot 1 802 658 2000
Neville Companies 1 802 862 0208
Woolen Mill Apts 1 802 655 1186
Thanks for letting me know which of these numbers is out of date.
There are two more places I'd look. You've probably been there... the websites of The Burlington Free Press (our daily paper) and the website of Seven Days Vermont (our local news and arts weekly)
When you've found something, I'd be happy to go have a look for you, or at least give you a sense of where it is and what your commute would be like. Feel free to call me.
