Question
I have listened to comedown many times and I was never quite able to interpret a solid meaning of the song. What is your interpretations of the songs lyrics and what it ultimatley means?

Answer
Hi! I am so sorry that it took me so long to respond to your question!

I think comedown is simply about being in a good place in life, hence "i dont wanna come back down from this cloud", much deriving from the saying of being on "cloud 9", or being in a completely happy an content state of being.

In a deeper sense, I think its about realizing a realtionship is not a good one to be in - finally realizing whats good for you ("Its taken me all this time to find out what i need"). If you realized what you could do to be happy, why would you want to submit yourself to a relationship that is any less than that, right? While the chorus is very positive in this realization, each verse is a description of why the realtionship has gone sour.

Hope this answered your question!

Expertise

I have been a Bush fan since 1995 when I first heard Comedown on the radio. I`ve seen Bush in concert 4 times and I have lots of Bush stuff, such as videos, singles, tour books...etc etc...because Bush is my favorite band in the whole wide world, and always will be! I'm a veteran of Bush online mailing lists (such as 15minutes, bush-l,23seconds, fatalcharm) and I'd love to help out anyone in need of Bush info! I can answer anything relating to the history of the band, the music (i.e.lyrics), the history of individual members. I will do my best to answer anything!

Experience

I dont know how I can explain credentials for being an expert in Bush...well, since I've always been on Bush mailinglists, I know all the late breaking info, as well as things that have happened in the past. I have an awesome memory when it comes to Bush for some reason...and my parents can name all of the members of Bush, even Sacha and Winston, I think that shows how obsessed I am!
