Question
Who is kate bush reffering to in her song wuthering heights? Who is heathcliff?

Answer
The song is based on the classic novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte written 1845-6. Set in Yorkshire with Heathcliff is one of the main characters. The novel spans a considerable period of his life from childhood to his death. The  ill-fated romance with Catherine Earnshaw sees them both marrying others then Catherine's early death but his obsession with her continues. (This is only a very rough outline of a very complex book.)
