Hi:

I've started listening to Kate after a hiatus and am freshly
astonished about the raw emotionalism of her songs. Any
word on new recordings or has she retired?

Hi Jeff,

The latest official announcement from Kate dates from mid-December 2004. In a letter to her fan club members she wrote:

Hello Everyone,

Many thanks for all your great letters of support and encouragement - they mean such a lot.

The album is nearly finished now and will be out next year - we'll let you know when. It features some beautiful orchestral movements by Michael Kamen - we had a wonderful day together at Abbey Road Studios last winter.

I'm so pleased with everyone's work on this record. There are some lovely performances and I hope you will all feel it's been worth the wait. Bertie keeps me very busy, he is so much fun and we are all really looking forward to Christmas.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and I hope next year is a really happy one for you.

So a new album should be released in 2005, we suspect in Fall. An announcement of the release date by EMI or Kate herself is exepected to come out in due course. But that's all speculation from our (the fans') part.
