Hi, my name is Kelly Appleby. I am a third year music student from Southampton Uni. I am doing my dissertation about Kate Bush and the issues surrounding her and 'pop politics'. Her lyrics are very vocal and although she is a very private person I was wondering what political (not just government, but social issues) she has spoken about publically, or mentioned in books/interviews, or if she has worked with any ogrnaisations. There is so much stuff about, and I have no idea where to start. If you could give me any help I would be so greatful.

Hi Kelly,

Well I doubt you'll ever find a political statement coming from Kate, as she's a very political correct person and as far as I know she has never publicly voiced an opinion about politics. As far as I know she has never had any other job than musician.

A good source to start digging, though, is GaffaWeb. This website, compiled by a bunch of fans, contains an interview section with virtually all interviews that have appeared in magazines and newspapers and that have been broadcasted on radio and TV.
