I was browsing in our local Oxfam shop when I came across "The Whole Story" book which was advertised as a first edition with a price of £24.99 The only problen is on the inside cover at the bottom there is a cut where it looks as though a price was there. Is £24.99 for a first edition a good price

That price seems quite high to me. I'd try Abebooks (www.abebooks.com), Amazon or eBay to see if it's available for a lesser price before purchasing this book. Most of the time you'll find a copy (as) new for very reasonable prices there.
