Question
i was listenin to the remake of a kate bush song called "this woman's work", by maxwell..  i love the melody but i do not know what the lyrics mean....could u break everything down to me?

Answer
Hello Dee and thank you for your question.Kate was approched by film director John Hughes to do a song for a particular scene in his film "She's Having a Baby".In this scene a young father to be is waiting anxiously in the waiting room while his wife is giving birth. There are complications with the delivery adding to his anxiety. In the scene you see flashbacks of their relationship showing that he really is in many ways still a child now being forced to grow up.
The lyrics reflect the feelings going through the young man's mind."It's hard on the man,now his part is over. Now starts the craft of the father"for example."All the things I should of done but I never did,all the things I should of given but I didn't"
Keep these in mind next time you listen to the song and it will have much more meaning for you.
Thanks again and enjoy.I hope this answers your question and should you ever have more questions about Kate's work feel free. It's been my pleasure.
