Bush, Kate/A question about her last Aerial album
Expert: Lee Bastian - 12/25/2005
QuestionDear Lee,
I'm so happy to see that some people like you are really interested in Kate Bush's works. For me she's the one since decades and Mrs Bartolozzi or the Coral Song always make me cry of happiness. Do you know anything about these songs ?
Happy Christmas and Greetings from Paris,
Long.
Answer Hello Long and thanks for your question.I apologize for taking so long to answer.I was on vacation for three weeks and forgot to notify all experts.
I also can't help but cry at some of Kate's songs. They are just so beautiful. And some are sad.The Coral Room song on the new album is written about Kate's mother who passed away sometime before the Red Shoes album in 1993.I believe this song is about Kate's memories of her mother. It breaks my heart every time I hear it.Kate's best songs are the ones with just her voice and her piano. The emotions expressed and the beauty of the music in these songs just takes me over and wrings out my heart.
Kate also likes to have as normal a life as she can.A lot of celebrities probably don't do their own laundry and wash their own floors but Kate does. She is very happy about being a mother and is creating a normal childhood for her son Bertie by being there for him and enjoying domestic bliss. The song Mrs. Bartolozzi is about the joy she feels in doing these household chores.I think it is also about a woman who has lost her husband and imagines him when seeing a shirt flying on the line outside or wrapped around her blouse or skirt in the dryer.
Anyway,I hope that helps and thanks again for the question.Have a great day!!
