Question Is it true that if a customer is not billed for a product or service after 6 months that they don't have to pay for that service or product?
Answer Laurie:
Thank you for your inquiry. I am not an expert in the field of collections, but know that it is unlikely that because your company did not bill for services, that it is therefore a "forgiven" debt. I don't know too many companies that provide free services, and your customers should not have that expectation. Please see the link for Statute of Limitations on collections in your state: http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.html
If you have any questions, you can contact your states Attorney General office or consult with a collection attorney on the matter.
