Question
I have tried a couple of sites for skip tracing that you recommended in your books but i am still having problems locating current phone numbers  all the numbers they list our disconnected? i am not able to get spouses names either to which the phone may be in their name?  i need phone numbers to locate these people to collect their account any suggestion?  plus i am a licensed agency in mn what do i need to do to collect in other states?

Answer
Sometimes you have to skip trace in more depth or longer on some accounts and you will not find everyone. You can pull a credit report for spouse information or look at the original paperwork for a spouse's signature or name. Also, not everyone will have a phone number you can find, they might be unlisted, have the phone in another name or not even have a land line phone.
You have to decide what other states you want to collect in and find out if you need to be bonded or licensed in that state. I have the contact information in my book listed by each state of who to contact and if you need to be licensed or bonded. I also offer this in a special report if you do not want to purchase my book. http://www.michelledunn.com/shop/catalog.php?item=24
With this Special Report you can find out what the law is in each of the 50 states for debt collection or if the rules change when you are an attorney purchasing debt to collect on or outsource to someone to collect for you.  With the scrutiny on debt collectors during this credit crisis, make sure you are following the law!
