Question
Hello - I have a BS in Interior Design, and am currently working as a sales consultant / designer at a furniture store.  Some of my associates have degrees, some do not.  Since my state doesn't have licensing, I do not have a legal designation or title.  I would like to know if it is appropriate to list BS on my card, since it does make a difference in skills and training.  I question this because some people put their title incorrectly as 'Interior Designer' without having formal training, etc.  I would like to differentiate mt title.

Dear Susanne:
It is not appropriate to put a BS degree designation after your name.  What would be appropriate is to put a description designation.  You could put Interior Designer or something your employer could suggest as acceptable.  Are you a member of ASID?  You can put those initials after your name if you are.  ASID represents a professional designation which would set you apart.  Their Allied membership seems to fit your education and experience so far.
