Question
When a boss (male) goes to lunch with 2 female employees is it proper for the boss to sit on one side of a small booth with one of the female employees while the other female employee sits in the seat opposite in the booth?

Answer
Marge,

A booth is a tough call as it is quite limiting regarding seating arrangements, however, there is really no formal business etiquett or protocol on this particular matter and should not be seen as anything other than colleagues going to lunch and due to the limitations of a booth two people will be seated on side of the booth.  There is no obligation for both females to sit on one side of booth, and it is also dependent on how well those working together know each other.

Have a good day.
