Question
Dr. Beauchamp,

I am a 32 yr old with only a High School education. I recently considered going to community colllege to get an associates degree in programming. However, when I told a friend about this she said that she has an associates and is a Python programmer. She said it is very very difficult to find work in her field. Is this because she is trained in the Python language? In your opinion would it be a waste of time for me to go to programming school?

Thank you for taking the time to review my question.

Answer
I do not know anything about this language. I would think that knowing the basic languages are important for the field. You could call public companies in your area and ask for the department of technology. Ask them what they recommend to take, and what they are hiring. Nothing is better than going to a potential employer and asking them for the information.

PS: when my computers break down, I get placed to India, so this may not matter much afterall. USA seems to be moving technology to India, not that I like this either.
