Question
I want to enter a date on a form and have the amounts in other fields on the form be highlighted or stand out.  This is on a payment form.

Well first, you don't have fields on a form. You have controls that may or may not be bound to fields in a table. This is a subtle but important distinction.

You might look at conditional formatting, it may do what you want.
