Question     I emailed Lorry - who is now on holiday.
He very kindly sent me a reply which gave three links to the MS solutions for Publisher 2007.

My problem - I created a file in publisher - clip art and text boxes, saved it and now it comes up with error message
'Publisher cannot open this file' I have tried opening it directly, through different file options etc.

The link directed me to find a code for the error (1100931) but my code was 1100009.
I tried the solution anyway which was to put a value 1 in the  promptbaderror file, but that didn't work.
I tried to search for my numbers but that didn't come up with anything.

I was lucky and printed a copy of my saved file out and so can scan it in and save under JPEG, but I would really like to know what is wrong so that I dare use publisher again.

Answer     This is a question that needs to be asked under the Microsoft Office Category....

The only thing I can think of is that somehow the file got corrupted. I use Publisher to create a monthyl newsletter for my bike club and I've never had a problem.

I suggest, though, that you setup a backup policy for your data files, so that you have insurance against this happening again.
