Business Software/Choosing inventory software for small business

Question
I manufacture a single product--a plastic nest box for barn owls. This product contains 12 components (bolts, nuts, washers, mounting plate, etc.) I need an inventory program that would automatically deduct the correct numbers from each component (8 bolts, 8 nuts, 8 washers, 1 mounting plate etc) each time a sale is recorded. Each component would have a separate record of course, but the components would be enslaved to the number of orders. There are large numbers of inventory software: I am looking for one that does this and is as simple and cheap as possible. For instance, do any of the free inventory software packages do this? This can be done in Excel, but I would rather have an inventory program do it. Thanks--Mark

Answer
This seems to require a rather specialized functionality that I doubt if you would see in freeware or even low cost software.

On the other hand, if you have Access, it wouldn't be too hard to do it on your own starting from an inventory control template.

Hope this helps,
