Business Software/Installing Microsoft Office

Question
From:

I recently installed a larger Hard Disk in my computer and transferred all programs from the old disk, among which Microsoft Office 2003,  except the operating system Windows XP, which I installed directly from the official XP-CD.
Now the computer shows all the Office sub-programs but not as usable software.
My official Office CD is damaged, but I do have the number.
Is it possible to get the program working?
Thanks.

Answer
You can't copy programs from one drive to another. The install routines have to be run because they make entries into the Registry and install other pieces in other places.

If you have your license key, you can contact Microsoft for replacement media. Should only be a niminal fee.

Hope this helps
