Question
Hello Scottgem, I hope you can help me with my inquiry.  I am a Teacher of English as a Second Language in Venezuela.  Several of my students (adults and young adults) have already moved abroad and asked me about the possibility of continuing our classes online by means of some software like, for example, "skype". I thought it was an excellent idea and tried to immediately tried to implement this suggestion. The problem is that Skype is not enough as I need to be able to see my student(s)in my monitor and they must be able to see a split screen, or something like that, showing both me and a "whiteboard", which could easily be a second camera focusing on a note pad, because the graphic element (whiteboard) is essencial in this plan.  I understand Skype is limited to only one camera per user, and you can establish only one-to-one video chats.  I need to be able to "chat" with maybe three participants at their homes.
I hope you can give me some useful information on this subject.  Thanks very much in advance,  Luis

Answer
There are several things you can do. I beleive Skyp does allow you to sharte your screen in a conference. If it doesn't you can use Microsoft's NetMeeting to do it. But that won't allow seeing other video cams.

There are a number of places that allow WEB meetings where you can also share your desktop, but those are generally not free.

Hope this helps

i'm sorry, but I don't beleive you are back at square one. I gave you at least one alternative to Skype (NetMeeting) and gave you another alternative (WEB based conference rooms for you to search for. (WebEx is an example, Live Meeting another).

I think your ratings were inappropriate. If this is how you grade students, I'm surprised they still want to continue with you.
