Business Software/Document management software

QuestionHi,
-You don't mention anything like this in your profile, but I just wondered if you might have some idea.
-My daughter asked me this, and I've never had need for anything similar, so thought I'd ask you. She is looking at applications like Microsoft's "Sharepoint" and another company's called "Document Locator". She says there are plenty of them out there, but she is looking for reviews and/or recommendations from anyone who has used them. It will need to handle multimedia, audio, and all sorts of formats.
But she says "Sharepoint" appears to be more complex than they need.

AnswerSharepoint is a collaboration tool. Using a WEB server it allows people to collaborate on projects by providing many features including discussion forums, document repositories and more. You can find out details on Microsoft's site. But Document management is only a part of its functionality.
I don't know of any specific reviews of these types of programs, but I can suggest checking out www.aiim.org. This is the major trade group overseeing, information management which includes doc mgmt software.
Hope this helps,
