Business Software/Inventory Control

QuestionHello, I have a small business and use Win XP on all of my computers. My business consists of approximately 3000 different items, many of which are one of a kind and not something that can be reordered or restocked. We carry a huge amount of autographed sports memorabilia and may have several of one item but cannot replace that item once inventory is depleted.
Can you suggest a user friendly program or method of keeping up with our inventory? Currently we have to search through everything manually. Items range from photos to footballs, hockey pucks to display cases, and so-forth. The business grew much faster than anticipated and we did not have the means in place to track inventory as it was purchased and/or sold.
Thank you,
Melanie
AnswerI don't know of any thing off the shelf that will do the job. The closest might be Quick Books which I beleive has an inventory module.
You might consider using a database program like Microsoft Access and building something on your own. If you are interested, I could give you an estimate on creating an Access app specifically for your needs.
