Question

I have quite some experience in working with OfficeExcel, currently working with Windows 98-II.
My question is:
If I delete a file, not to the wastebin but definitely, is a backup made of such a file?
If yes, how can I restore that file?
In other programs usually such a backup file is made, that's why I wonder about this.
I have searched everywhere also in temp files and using the search program.

Your help will be appreciated!
Tks.

Answer
Actually its rare that a backup file is automatically done. Some programs do it, but they are few.

Hope this helps

You can choose not to beleive me, but I've spent over 20 years working with a load of PC based software packages. Automatic backups of data files is rare. That's because most people backup all their data files in a batch. If a program does do automatic backups you might need to set it up specifically.

When you delete a file without sending it to the recycle bin, prior to Windows Vista, no backup is made unless that particular software package is set to do it.
