Business Software/Problem with a Windows file
Expert: Scottgem - 7/15/2004
QuestionI have ver 6.5.350 of Retrospect Professional, a backup program.
The problem is that once I have backed up my data I am unable to complete the writing of a bootable disk without getting the same error message, basically that Windows file PFPJOBPR.{PB" is fouling things up (some kind of media sharing problem). This file is in Windows, but is used by Coreldraw I think.
Anyway, I deided to delete this file and back up again, but found that I cannot - access is denied on the grounds that the file may be in use somewhere. I don't know where since I had nothing running.
I have backed up my C drive both with a removable disk drive and my CD-R drive and have the same problem. Dantzs' (Retrospect developers) technicians haven't been of much help to date, and it always takes over an hour of wait time to talk to them. Any suggestions?
Best regards, Jim Harton
AnswerThe only things I can suggest, is to run MSCONFIG and make sure that Corel or the file doesn't load at startup. then run your backup and see if that fixes it. You might also try excluding that file from your backup.
Hope this helps,
