Business Software/Sending & Receiving Faxes on the Computer

Question
Good morning.  I hope you can help me.  I have a 3-in-1 printer, minus the fax machine.  Now that I have started a small home-based business, I need to be able to receive and send faxes BUT I cannot afford to purchase a fax machine yet.  Is there a way to send and receive faxes on my computer without having a fax machine?  I run Windows XP and use a DSL line. Thank you for your help.

Answer
XP has fax capability built in. So does your modem. Go to Start>Help and look up faxing for details on how to set it up. Sending is easy, you'll just use File>Print and select the fax as your printer.

Receiving may be a little more complex depending on the software. The computer modem need to be connected to a regular phone line, not the DSL.
