my name is Oz, and working on a busines proposal and have stumbled on a few road blocks. i was just curious, what are the top 5 databse programs on the market that is very user friendly and very dependable? thank you for you time!

First best is a relative term. The answer to your question depends on the scope of your database and business.
A smaller project would probably use Microsoft Access, FileMaker or Lotus Approach. A larger project might use Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, My SQL among others.
