QuestionMy company deals with vessels being on-hired and off-hired, i.e. vessels come in and vessels come out of the port. Unfortunately, we do not control the movement of those vessels from our head office in here. What program can we use to monitor the movement of vessels?
AnswerI don't know of any specific program that is designed for such a task. I would suggest checking shipping trade journals. Usually specialized software like that is advertised in such magazines.
However, depending on your needs, just tracking the vessels seems a fairly simple database task. So if you want to build your own you could use any database app like Microsoft Access to do it. Or you could contract with a developer to build one for you.
Hope this helps,
