i am helping a friend of mine get started getting his buisness together and what he needs is a very very basic invoice program to use. I am having trouble finding one to use. I tried Excel and those invoice programs from Staples office Max,, etc. But none of them seem to fit his needs.

he is the owner of a ship repair buisness and some of his invoices are simple and some need many lines of description. He isnt too computer literate and I am and I'm trying to find one simple enough to use.

You might consider trying QuickBooks. he will probably need more that just invoicing and Quickbooks is the acknowledged leader in small business accounting. I believe you can get a free trial from Intuit. I think it would also be a good idea to consult his accountant.

If Quickbooks can't do the job, you might consider creating your own using something like Microsoft Access. Or hiring a consultant to build for him. A consultant might not be as expensive as you might think. Fro example I could do a simple Invoicing program for under $500, maybe a lot under depending on how simnple the needs are.
