Question
Hi,
i have a small problem when using MS Powerpoint 2000. occassionally, the ppt does not open and displays a message "Your Office assistant is not working properly. would u like to reinstall your office assistant?"
in such cases, i restart my system and then powerpoint starts working properly.
my doubt is that if i click 'yes' and reinstall the office assistant, will that affect my existing powerpoint applications/slideshows and what may the reason for such an error being displayed?
      thanks in advance

Answer
The Office Assistant is that animated Paperclip (or other icon) that is the interface for the Help system. Its apparently become corrupted and you need to reinstall it. It will not affect any PP presentations you have made.

Hope this helps,
