Business & Technical Writing/Freelance

QuestionHi
I have just started to work as a freelance writer. I have initial work experience as a Content Writer in an E-learning company. Recently, someone has approached me to write the content for a website. Basically I need to write for 4 sections of the site, and each section needs to be of 2 pages length at least.
I am not sure how much I should quote. Would appreciate a reply as I need to send a quote today itself.
Regards
Annie
AnswerAnnie,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I did not get your original message. (??!!??)
The answer to your question is it depends.
Questions you need to ask are...
What is the content? Technical (priced higher) Clean up of their copy (priced lower) Material you find? (higher)
Who owns the copyright? If they do, higher If you do, lower.
Some people charge by the page. How many words per page? Do you create the HTML (higher) or just the text (lower)?
Where are you? Geography makes a difference. Writers in CA get paid better.
Is the contract long term or short term. Long term contracts usually have a lower rate based on longer, more stable work.

Wish I could offer you more. I am sorry my response was not more timely.
