Business & Technical Writing - Recipe Book

Expert: Dan Smith - 7/9/2008

Question
I have written a recipe book in WORD.  I want to add some drawings that my son is doing.  He suggested I try Indesign program.  Is there any other way I can get drawings and sketches into WORD.  I have already gotten pictures that I have taken of some peppers and some of the  recipes.  I still need more.  Then I have to find a publisher.  Any sugestions on that.
Thanks for your expect opinion.

Answer
Word handles images quite well. You simply need to scan your son's sketches into a format that can be imported into Word. Also, read the Word documentation on importing and placing images. In general, though, that is done off the "Insert" menu. The exact steps will depend on the version of Word you are using. Once you have imported the image, you can format it to wrap text around it or skip over it as seems appropriate.

Hope this helps.
