Question
Hi there Dan,

I am in the process of writing a professional report which forms part of my undergraduate university assessment.

The report is about a specification of a HP ProLiant BL20p G4 Server series.

The brief just explains that I have been asked to advice the Office Manager on the purchase of a new server for our company network. He has been sent a sales brochure but does not understand any of the technical terms in the specification. My task is to explain this to him.

I wanted to ask you, can you suggest an appropriate title or name of the report? This looks pretty much vague.

I would be very much appreciated if you can kindly please provide me your expertise advice on this matter.

Thank you.
John Daly

Answer
First, a couple of notes about your writing here.

It should be "an HP ProLiant BL20p G4 Server," not "a HP...."

You are going "to advise" the Office Manager, not "advice the...."

There are two possibilities for a title depending on whether your recommendation regarding its purchase will be positive or negative:

1. Why the HP ProLiant BL20p G4 Server is a good buy for the company network.

2. Why the HP ProLiant BL20p G4 Server is not a good buy for the company network.

Then in your report, explain why the specifications mean the server does or does not meet the company's needs at a competitive price.

Hope this helps.
