Question
When writing an AGM Notice should you include the word THE

Notice is hereby given of the 13th Annual General Meeting ..... or

Notice is hereby given of 13th Annual General Meeting

There is some argument in my office as to which is correct.

Answer
Hi Annabelle,

Actually, neither is an example of good writing, although the first sample you provided is the more grammatically correct.

It would be more effective to say:

The 13th Annual General Meeting will be held on --------.

I hope that was helpful to you.
