Question
Hi there,

I hope this dosn't sound like a stupid question, but I'm wondering what a technical writer does? What does their job entail? Thanks.

Answer
Lisa,

I know several working technical writers who ask the same question...

A technical writer often gathers information about a technical topic like computers or science, and writes the information into instructions, documentation, or explanations for a particular audience.

Technical writing has certain formats for different audiences and reasons, and the person has to have a mastery of technical language.

Hope this answers your question.
