Question
Hi Mr Dan Smith

I am now writing a English letter and did not know whether the grammer or presentation is correct or not, please comment.

"This is to informed you that your salary will be increased to $10,000 with effective from 15 December 2004.  Salary increment is personal matters, so don't disclose to other colleague."

Regards
Lui

Answer
Use this instead.

Effective 15 December 2004, your salary will be increased to $10,000. Your salary is a personal matter, so please do not disclose this information to your colleagues.

I actually question the "personal" argument. If it is personal, then it is the employee's decision whether to disclose it. If it is company policy that employees not inform each other of their compensation, then your letter should say that. If that is the case, use this sentence.

Company policy is that compensation remain confidential, so please do not disclose this information to your colleagues.

Hope this helps.
