hi expert
I'm doing an english analytical report which presents suggested solutions to problems such as reports of scientific research, feasibility reports by firms etc. The topic i was thinking of doing is on the updating of a computer software/system or an Executive Information system at workplaces to allow employees to work efficiently etc..
I was just wondering if you can give me some ideas to get me started as to the type of software, alternatives, criteria and weights and allow for comparison to enable the reader to know what choice is best and why it's best choice. Can you give me posible ideas in how to organize around criteria, discussing alternatives under criteria and how you compare and the choice.
Thank you!

Sue,
Your topic sounds great, and I would love to read the final report. Unfortunately, I could not say what two products would be a good comparison of software. Whatever you choose, it would no doubt compare something to Microsoft's product in the same area.
Have you checked with our computer experts? They would probably enjoy a question like yours instead of the usual questions on why Excel doesn't work the way the user expects.
I have been working lately on some Sun material. They have some software solutions that look interesting and challenge Microsoft... Also Linux was developed to oppose Microsoft's grip on the market, you may find something that would compare to a Microsoft
product there.
How about Apple systems? They have some interesting and easy-to-use products.
Wish I could help you more.

AnswerSue,
Like any analytical report, you must describe the problem, explain the potential solutions, and explain the best solution. You need to find the products. First, you need a problem to resolve...
You need to put some thought into what you want to do. Do some research and see what you can find.
