Question
Hello Norman,  My question pertains to expenses and how to manage/organize them.  I'm an independent contractor.  I travel .  I conduct business on the road.  Drive my personal car.  Fly regularly to cities and rent cars.  Use my cell phone, lap top, computer at home, yadda yadda. What is the best way to organize my expenses?  Is there a software program you can recommend?  Or is a day planner better?  Now that I'm into the New Year, I need to get tax savvy with my earned income and expenses.  Help!!

Answer
Cynthia,

I am in a similar situation as an independent consultant.  There are a number of enterprise level expense management systems such as Concur or Necho, but there is a bit of a void concerning small business applications.  The most appropriate small business application is Quicken's Expensable which is now being marketed by ExpensAble a private company, headquartered in Irvine, California. Here is their URL: http://www.expensable.com/.  If you find others please let me know.

Best Regards,

Norm
