About Joel Linton Expertise I have travelled on business to 37 countries in the past 4 years -- visiting 4 or 5 major cities in one 7-day trip ! All this out of Chicago (my home base). I can assist with itinerary planning, suggestions what to pack, how to get to locations, and can answer general questions about what to do during non-work time, and how to survive "on your own" on the road. I have a few "tips" on how to make a 7 to 10 hour plane ride more comfortable, less jet-lagged and what to take on board to assist.

Answer What I advised last time regarding your question was basically a strategy you should take of "endearing" yourself to the local people. Be nice to them, be caring and be grateful. They will appreciate that a lot. However, more so, be careful !!! Chinese business is tough and very competitive. Be careful NOT to share any good idea with anyone unless you have some sort of legal protection -- that is why China is the knockoff capital of the world -- they are able to take any good idea and commercialise it almost immediately. They work 24 hours if they have to !! My strategy when I am there is to say "thank you" a lot, smile and tell them how good their english is !!! They appreciate that a lot. Language can be a frustrating barrier at times, but be patient and I am sure you will get along fine. Try and learn some basic words and then use them -- like please, thank you, hello, goodbye, etc ....
Ihope you get this reply (let me know) and if there is anything else you need just ask.
