Buying or Selling a Home/space Rent for mobile home parks
Expert: Michael McClure - 10/2/2008
QuestionMr. McClure,
My husband and I are considering selling our home and buying a mobile home, for cost purposes. I have contacted a mobile home park called Swan Lake in Mira Loma to inquire about space rent and the cost involved in this. To my dismay, I was told the only way they would discuss this with me is if I came in and filled out an application. I am not to the point of wanting to move as of yet, or begin the process, I am still doing research which I believe is important before taking a leap and signing an application for something I don't even know if I'm interested in yet. Can you please give me some idea of what space rent for a double-triple wide is in the area of Mira Loma and or Corona? I am simply looking for a general price to go off of during my research. So I can do a cost analysis prior to buying.
Thanks for helping,
Carol
AnswerHi Carol,
First, Swan has had "major" problems with a lender and dealership that had their park about half repossessed! I'm sure their guard is up, as normally that is not the procedure.
My area is the So. Bay, and am aware of this only because it was a major hit to our industry...now we are all under the State's scrutiny.
Space rents vary so much, that it is impossible to say what an average would be. You will have to visit each park, or call them to inquire about amenities and rental fee.
I have a customer from Corona who was trying to sell her place in a beautiful park there, but we were just working on getting her a place over here, so don't know much about her home or park. (It is on a golf course I know!
If you like, I can contact her and get more info for you....please let me know....."~ Michael cell #310 386 1061
