Question
I am married for 17 years and I bought a house around 10 years ago.... My husband spend so much time in his country.... I wonder if I can seel the house without his signature? all the documents of the house are only on my name.... I already refinace a couple of time without any problem I mean without his signature but I wonder if the same thing apply when I want to sell the house.. I live in VA.. Ashburn

Hi Guillermo-
Thanks for your question. Based on the facts you have provided, if your husband is not on any of the documents (deeds or notes), there should be no reason that you cannot go ahead and sell the house your self. You should probably check with a title company to be sure. They can also do a title search for you. I hope this helps, Toni
