Buying or Selling a Home/Need to sell house in another state

Question
I was wondering how I can find a realtor to sell my house in Texas long-distance.  I have moved across the county and had rented out my previous home.  Now I would like to sell it.  I do not have the ability to fly back to Texas to clean or repair the house and I have no idea what condition the renters may leave it in.  What services can a realtor offer me in this situation?

Answer
Dear Molly,

If you have a local realtor contact him/her and have them refer you.  Most companies participate in referral networks.  If that doesn't work I would try to search via the internet.  Look for an agent with a website that also has a quantity of their own listings posted.  Some agents have no listings and will post mls listings.  Interview the agent over the phone and have them send you a marketing package with referrals and a list of properties sold.  The agent you choose should be able to assist you in getting the house ready for market.
Hope this helps and good luck
