I live in Indiana and I was wanting to know if there is any websites where you can find pre-foreclosures or foreclosures listed for free without having to subscribe to one of those services?

Yes, Jack, but I don't think you'd be interested because it takes a lot of work and research. First of all, you would have to search in your daily newspapers. There is where they have people's houses that are in foreclosure (or heading for it) listed. Just look in your local paper where it says the legal section. Then you would have to look up the address and legal discription and then go look at the property and talk to the owner. Are you getting discouraged. Join the club. There's lots more you gotta do, too. You will discover that a whole bunch of people are looking for foreclosures or pre-foreclosures and the owners of those properties are sick and tired of being harassed by the "investors." Only those investors get to the foreclosures before you do.

Yes, I am hinting to you that it is better to subscribe to a service rather than laying off your job for a while looking for foreclosures. It does take a lot of time and effort, especially if you don't know what you're doing. I do wish you well, Jack.
