Question
please help.  time is of the essence.  everyone knew and knows we are in a hurry to move.  we found buyers and they signed the contract , but gave a check that bounced; in sufficent funds.  now the woman is pulling a trick; she said her husband was abusive and took out an order of protection; full, although she still lives with him.  a violation.  i am desperate.  we lost the home of our dreams; i have to register my children in a school for september.  our home has been off the market for over a month.  do we have an recourse?

Answer
Hello Marylee,

Thank you for your question.

Tell your lawyer to request the contract be returned.  It sounds like a problem.

Have your real estate broker start showing the house again. Reduce the price to what you accepted from these people.

You still have time to find a buyer.

Hope it works out.

Hans
