Question
i had bout a piece of property about 20 ears ago and bought it for about 80k now im selling if for about 200, im worried about the capital gians tax i am wondering if theres anything i can do like get into another piece of property or maybe buy a house to avoid this tax?

Answer
Yes there are ways to defer capitol gains.  One of the most common is the 1031 Exchanges.  This has very strict guidelines and perimeters that must be adhere to.  You should also check with you Tax person and a CPA to see exactly where you come in at, this may be a better time simply to sell and collect your gains.  Should you decide to do an exchange, you will need the assistance of a facilitator. Check with your local Realtors for references.  There is no way to ever completely avoid the tax.  Good luck
