My wife lives in Florida and she is extremely good decorating. She even had done some work decorating houses for sale. she would love to become a "stager" (I do not know if the term is correct) or to work for one. What could you recommend to her?

When I attended the staging conference last year, I learned that Florida and California were the strongest markets for home staging. I live in Northern VA and the demand for staging is very low here. So I am thinking of closing my business by spring if business doesn't pick up.
I took the staging certification course by Barb Swarz of www.stagedhomes.com. The course is very expensive and costs about $4000. Another way to enter staging would be to become a redesigner. I think this would be a better way to enter the business.
Those stagers who have ties to the real estate business, such as realtors or those who are ex-realtors, tend to do better as stagers because of their connections.
