Buying or Selling a Home/buyouts

Question
I was recently affected by the flooding in cedar rapids, Iowa. My city is now talking about buyouts of properties. I have been told in the past that if you get bought out that they have to give to 110% of the assesed value of home and property. Is this information correct?

I'm so sorry for your circumstances! As I understand it, FEMA is helping out the disaster victims. If you go to their website there is a link you can click on.  As to your city buying your property, I can't say, but I'm sure if you call your city hall they will be able to direct you to someone in the right department to talk to about this.
