Buying or Selling a Home/what color to paint

Question
Hello, we are first time home owners in Las Vegas. While we are not looking to sell our house in the near future, we still want to decorate our home in a way that will make our house easy to sell when that time comes. We know this is not going to be our long-term home. I'm thinking about having cork flooring installed in all the main areas of the home. Would that turn potential buyers away? I also want to paint our living room a color that will really open up the space because we currently have white walls, standard brown carpet and very little lighting. It looks smaller than it really is. Any suggestions on paint colors that do a good job at this? I understand it's hard to say without seeing the room.

Answer
I don't think cork flooring will turn buyers away especially if it doesn't stand out in any way.  In fact it might attract green buyers.

Looks like you can paint your room in questions in any color you like, just keep it neutral and light.  My favorite neutral color is Shermin Williams Latte.  Add color to the room with your accessories.

I am an Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) and I own my own home staging business. Home Staging is the very best proven way to get top dollar for your home as you prepare it for sale. Homes that are Staged with an ASP Professional Home Stager sell faster and for more money! This is because Staging sets the scene throughout the house to create immediate buyer interest in your property. This will then lead to your home selling for the highest possible price in today's market. I can answer questions about getting your home ready to sell, specifically what you need to do to get it sold faster and for more money. I can assist with arranging furniture, arranging accessories, decluttering and cleaning tips, choosing the right paint colors, selecting furniture to rent for vacant homes, how to update your home when it is outdated and out of style etc...I can not answer questions about contracts on buying/selling house or legal issues that a Realtor would have to answer.
