Buying or Selling a Home/Commission on the selling of a mobilehome

Question
My Mother passed away and left her mobile to myself and my sister. We are trying to sell the motordom for 45,500.00. My sister found a Realtor and signed with her and her commission is $6,000.00. We have dropped the price of the mobile home a couple of times, so shouldn't the Realtor be negotiating her commission or when you sign with them that is the fee even if we end up selling for way less? We live in Anaheim, Ca. and I need to know if this Realtor is on the up and up. We had an offer for $39,000.00 (which we think is a joke) and she still gets her $6,000.00?

Answer
Hello Charmaine,
The fee is very normal. and NOT based upon the price of the home.  If this person is showing your home, and doing their advertising as expected....it sounds ok to me.
Of course, you can do as you wish when the listing period is up...perhaps another dealer will do it for less....shop around...times are tough!

Good luck....."~ M
