Buying or Selling a Home/Buying rural property

Question
We are buying a rural home that is a 'fixer upper.' It is in need of a lot of TLC, but I am curious to know what the best loan program is for us. We currently own a home that we will live in until the new remodel is complete. Any suggestions?

Answer
Dear Kassey;
There are probably some loans that would work for you better than others.  I cannot say which is best since I do not know you economic standing, your needs, your tax advantages, your financial portfolio, or your credit.  These are all things that a lender will take into account when meeting with you and advising you what to do. You should arrange a meeting with a lender as soon as possible and then if you have further questions, speak with your accountant.

In addition, the local lenders will be aware of special programs for rural areas, tax advantages, incentives, etc. for the area and/or your wage bracket and circumstance.  Ask questions and explore all possibilities before making a decision.

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
