Question
My sister owns a beautiful home in Maine on 11-1/2 acres. With the depressed economy and need to sell, she's discounted the sale price by $75K. Potential buyers want her to reduce her asking price further by $20K or more. This is creating heartache for her. I am wondering if there's a way she can partner with the buyers, and retain ownership rights to 8-9 acres? (Note: she can't subdivide because of a pre-existing "covenant".) Is there a partnership or other legal buy-sell arrangement that can help her?

This is a legal issue and only a State Licensed Attorney can help you with advice & guidance on the possibility of a "partnership or other legal buy-sell arrangement" that she can use. Find a local Lawyer who specializes in Real Estate & go from there. GOOD LUCK!
